Ryan's Baby Blessing

We got Ryan blessed on 10/10/10! My Uncle Randy gave her the blessing and it was so sweet! She looked so pretty in her blessing dress (my mom bought her the dress) We had lots of family attend and also participate! I feel so blessed to have such a great family! :)

Miss Ryan

So my little miss Ryan decided to come a little bit early!!! She just really wanted to be an August baby like her mama ;) My water broke Monday night around 9:00 pm and Mateo was out of town working (3 hours away) So me and my mom headed to the hospital while Mateo started the drive home....kinda frustrating for him as he had just left Monday morning...
I went into the hospital dilated to a 3 and after 9 hours of labor I was still only at a 3......frustrating.......plus her heartbeat kept dropping after each contraction and after everytime I moved positions....So the doctor said we should start talking about having a C-section. This was not something that I had ever even contemplated but I just felt like we needed to get her out asap to make sure she was safe!!! The dr. said I only had about a 1 in 10 chance of delivering the baby normally so as soon as he said that then we pretty much went straight to the operating table...
Now that was definitely something I never want to relive...My C-section was traumatic and very painful and I won't go into detail about THAT right here. But she arrived on Tuesday morning 8/31/10 at 7:24 am! Weighing in at 7 lb and 1 oz and 19.5 inches long! I guess my first question to Mateo was..."whose nose does she have?" lol - I don't remember saying that at all but its kinda funny as we were a bit paranoid about her nose due to our ultrasound pics...
She had to be in the NICU from Tuesday until Thursday :( due to respitory issues from me having the C-section...but she is doing great and we both got to come home yesterday afternoon :)
It's been a long week and I've got some recovery ahead of me but we are both doing better each and every day :)

Another Weekly Update!

went to the Dr. again yesterday and he says I'm dilated to about 2.5 and am 80 to 90% effaced...so I'm definitely moving along and she isn't even due for a little over 2 weeks!! Dr. says that I'm moving along quite well for a first timer :) and that makes me feel good!
I feel like she will probably be here soon and I feel like we are just about ready - let's just hope she waits until her dad is here to witness it! He offered to strip my membranes this week but I told him to hold off until next week because I really need to be at my work next week to train the new girl and so hopefully next week is my last work week?! Everyone is starting to say that it looks like I'm dropping a little bit and I'm definitely feeling lots of pre labor symptoms...so it's just a matter of my water breaking or my contractions to start progressing more...My body is working on it!

Weekly Update!

Went to the doctor again yesterday afternoon...he says I'm now dilated to an easy 1.5 almost 2 and that I'm 70% effaced...so......I'm moving along slowly but surely from last friday I guess! It'll be very interesting to know when she decides to show us her little face! I feel like she's getting obnoxiously huge in there and I'm starting to get a little bit concerned with my weight gain...Doctor says he will strip my membranes next Friday if I would like him too?! So we will see how this next week goes...I'm 95% ready for her to be here...just a few misc. things to do with her room and I've got to get my mortgage test taken on Wednesday and then I think i'll be ready for her arrival! :) maybe

Pregnancy Update

so now I start seeing the Dr. every week...I had my first check on Friday the 13th - exactly one month before Miss Ryan's due date. I REALLY wasn't looking forward to that but it wasnt as bad as I thought it would be...I am dilated to a 1 and am 50% effaced. I know that's nothing but at least it is a good starting point ;)
Me and Mateo attended the child education class that IHC puts on all day yesterday and we learned alot! It didnt necessarily calm my nerves but it did make me realize the importance of being as relaxed and calm as possible...so I've decided that its time to slow down and take care of me...So hopefully I will be able to destress my life as much as possible until she gets here so that when labor starts I'm focused & ready for the labor

3D Ultrasound

We had our 3D ultrasound and Ryan was so not wanting to show us her face :( she was very upset and kept trying to hide...by the end of it she was like burrowed into my back - Ouch! so I've got some pics but not very many good ones...just lots of pics of toes and fingers :) so i'm glad she has those atleast ;)
